I'm pretty sure that the car at 1:20 took out cars in the parking lot. Also, some of these cars seem to be faster on their roofs than on their wheels.
roofs were the backup brakes
The moonshine in the trunks just made the cars more flammable!
NASCAR in the fifties and sixties was hardcore. They still crash like this but the cars are all full of safety equipment. Dudes in the fifties used to hate wearing seatbelts.
Getting flung out of the windshield before the car exploded was a safety feature. Sort of.
Also their balls are spinning through the air on fire.
Spent most of the time watching that expecting to see more dead spectators.
This could really use a "Speed Racer" tag.
