Gojira1000 - 2008-08-28
Damn, that was disappointing. Hoping more for something like animated Ian Miller art, and got "Blizzard did it better first, but, um, look! A catapult!"
Cleaner82 - 2008-08-28 Second one is much better. It's all nice to look at but to me it's all just a smoke screen unless it's a cinema of gameplay.

you tell em SolRo!
SolRo - 2008-08-28 hey, my bitch is back!
ztc - 2008-08-28 Animated Ian Miller art would scare the shit out of 90% of the audience.
baleen - 2008-08-28
Solro I love whenever I one star one of your stupid fucking submissions you go on a little quiet baleen one starring mission. It's very endearing.
glasseye - 2008-08-28
"Blizzard did it first." Heh, no, no they didn't
http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2006/04/10/
And WAR is about 1000x better than WoW.
Cleaner82 - 2008-08-28 I love that imagery, it's so great. A gem of a little pseudo-poem.
Gojira1000 - 2008-08-28 Fer fuck's sake, is it sped day?
"While Warhammer online endeavored to be differentiated from the masses of mainline MMORPGs, their cinematic 3D-rendered CGI teasers show a lack of originality and can be compared unfavorably to earlier and better-executed efforts from myraid other companies, Blizzard being one which has, in fact, produced a nearly identical trailer featuring, as here, orcs and dwarves, the obligatory dueling wizards and elves and siege equipment of the never-actually-built variety."
Now go on about how Dave Arnesson invented D&D and it's all just a rip-off of his wonderful, cum-covered ideas. Then go paint a unit of goblin fanatics. Then eat them.
Hooker - 2008-08-28 Everything in World of Warcraft was in the Warhammer tabletop game first!

Caminante Nocturno - 2008-08-28
That ork's entire life had been leading up to him getting on that catapult. He knew it, and he was proud of it.
Cleaner82 - 2008-08-28 Dreaming of the day when he would soar like a bird over the castle walls, maybe land in a roll, take out a couple guards with some graceful sword-work...
SolRo - 2008-08-28 I'm just hopeful that part starts generating christian 'outrage' because it's a demonic warrior killing a clergyman themed good guy.
Caminante Nocturno - 2008-08-29 Moral crusaders are never logical in what enrages them. They'll probably boycott the game based on some obscure Bible passage that they interpret as stating human catapults are sinful.
KnowFuture - 2008-08-28
Meh.
I'll stick to Tabula Rasa for my MMO experiences.
It has laser guns and explosions and a storyline and that's all I ask for, really.
oddeye - 2008-08-28
Game is total shit, completed it the other day. Very disappointing. It is very bad form of Mythic to rip off Warcraft so badly but I guess thats EA's code of ethics rubbing off on them.
zatojones - 2008-08-28 how do you "complete" a MMORPG?
glasseye - 2008-08-28 Especially an MMORPG that hasn't been released yet...
StanleyPain - 2008-08-28 Were you tightening up the graphics?
socialist_hentai - 2008-08-28
Warhammer 40K series was pretty enjoyable. As for this thing, it's safe to assume that it won't be real competition for Wow, cos Tabula Rasa wasn't, AoC wasn't, and probably no one will ever come close to the marketing juggernaut that is Blizzard.

As a former Games Workshop employee, I want to hate this because I hate my former employers with a passion. However, it looks like they got the source material down pat.
Brautwurst_Barbarian - 2008-08-28 That is like the crappiest job ever.
As a nerd, I have unrepentant love for Orks, so the catapult made me happy.
I'd still never play a MMORPORGER though.
ztc - 2008-08-28 As a former Games Workshop customer, your former employers are a bunch of mercenary money-grubbing bastards.
A MMORPG based on Warhammer before the suits sucked all the imagination out of it would be awesome. Fifteen years too late, sadly.
zatojones - 2008-08-28 funny. everyone who either worked for GW or had a business relationship with them has the bitterest stories. wonder why that is.
Ghoul - 2008-08-28 Yes, the job was terrible. I have stories about the GW management (that's me), retail staff and fan base that would make grown men weep.
ztc - 2008-08-28 I'd love to hear about it. Please write it all up for your poe-news blog or something

theSnake - 2008-08-28
This is really old, like it was the first thing they made and put on their website when the game was announced.

Paracelsus - 2008-08-28
