Pandatronic - 2007-10-02
This beats Josie and The Pussycats in Space.
|
Pandatronic - 2007-10-02 Also, the "OMG greatest show evar!!!1" nostalgia in the comments.

Aernaroth2 - 2007-10-02
I wonder if they just reused a bunch of old jetsons cartoon cels to keep the cost down.
|
|
CharlesSmith - 2008-09-18 You wonder? It would not surprise me to learn that the Partridge Family made a guest appearance on the Jetsons once, and that ALL of the animation cells are from the Jetsons. That was basically the opening to the Jetsons without the money gag and with a slightly different dog.

bang to buck ratio - 2007-10-02
Just... close your eyes and imagine how this must have been pitched.

|
CharlesSmith - 2008-09-18 "It's like the Jetsons meets the Jetsons, only the dog is a MOTHERFUCKING ROBOT!"
"I'll take 100 episodes!"

Caminante Nocturno - 2007-10-02
Oh, come on! COME ON!!! You've got to be kidding me!
|
Blaise - 2007-10-02
A daily dose of these kind of clips help keep the nostalgia away.

Millard - 2007-10-02
Ah, Dude, the preferred nomenclature is "BCE".
|
TinManic - 2007-10-03 you mean CE. and no, i hate that shit.
|
Xenocide - 2007-10-03 Did you just one-star the video because Millard said "BCE?" Shame on you.
|
EvilHomer - 2007-10-03 No, see, 2200 BCE is correct. This show clearly depicts the Partridge Family at the Biblical dawn of time, living in the technological wonderland of Atlantis before the Deluge. I'm guessing some of the story arcs tie the Flood in to Danny's hijinx.

Afgh - 2007-10-03
Most of this technology is already here.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2007-10-03
Well...it's *no* Gilligan's Planet.

cognitivedissonance - 2007-10-03
Wow. This is some super-ultra-super-saiyan-megazord level of cheap, even from the shlockmeisters at Hanna-Barbera.
|
Xiphias - 2007-10-03
so how much would they milk the jetsons tie-in?

The world would be a much crummier place if Space Ghost Coast to Coast had been based on this show instead of Space Ghost. And since Space Ghost Coast to Coast was the genesis of many fine series on Adult Swim, it's reasonable to assume that the whole concept of ransacking the HB archives for laughs could have withered on the vine right then and there. We'd have been left with nothing but Baby Blues, the Oblongs, and a bunch of puerile anime.
Maybe not the end of the world, but aren't we all a little better off having Brak, Captain Murphy, and Phil Sebben? The answer is yes.
In conclusion, fuck the Partridge Family in space for nearly pulling a terminator move on the best animated comedy shows of the past 10 years.
2 stars.

Testicles of Doom - 2007-10-05
Jesus Christ I hate Hanna Barbera cartoons... but at least they were smart enough to place it in 2200 instead 2000, so that everyone involved would be dead by the time the title was obsolete. It saved a lot of people a lot of embarassment.

The century's best argument for the wholesale annihilation of the mongrel white race. Not until recently, with the release of Cyber Seduction, were better cases presented.

3 stars but only because it's not as terrible as the video HB did for Sugar Ray's "When it's Over". Also, I like the color-blindness part where the cartoon goes "Look at these circles filled with colored dots and tell me which Partridge you see."

Surely even then people knew the world wouldn't look like that in just 200 years.
