I bought the DVDs. Not only because they've hunted down almost all the clips from YouTube and other big services, but because I think Chappelle's Show was geniunely remarkable and influential in its time.
Then I watched the DVDs and... It's not exactly all gold.
But stuff like the whole uncut Rick James interview makes everything worth the 20 bucks or something I paid.
Playa Haters Ball is my favorite, or at least the one i quoted most frequently in under-grad. But the Charlie Murphy true hollywood stories are my 2nd.
Actually Monty Python is only like Chapelle Show in that it has horrible fans. I never found Monty Python to be funny. I just never got it's brand of random access humor.
This whole thing was so beautifully done, from the Murphy voiceover and the great editing to the costumes and just sheer idiocy of this story. The core of it being the moral: never judge a book by its cover.
