That would actually be all I need to make the decision to subscribe to cable. I'm not sure what the rights are; I think most of the classic game shows on the Game Show Network are owned by the same production company, which might make things easier, but I dunno why nobody's thought of that, since I'm pretty sure there's less actual network channels in Japan than there are in the US. Quick! Pitch it to someone before someone steals your idea. And come back with your millions and show some pity on us lowly hundred-aires.

This is available on Roku; I don't know much about Roku, but apparently you can get the entire MXC series from them.

I'm surprised neither GSN nor Buzzr (essentially, DirecTV/Sony's cable channel vs. Fox/FremantleMedia's over-the air digital subchannel) have put non-funnydubbed Asian game shows on their schedule. It would help the variety on those channels, for those who want a little more than Bob Eubanks and Gene Rayburn. I doubt G4 would have lasted as long as it did without Sasuke and Unbeatable Banzuke to prop it up somewhat.

I would really like to know what the original dialog translates as literally.

Besides the Takeshi's Castle I mentioned above (seriously what has Takeshi Kitano NOT done in his life?) I also saw a sub of the original show some years ago. I think it was just fan made and I don't speak Japanese worth a damn so I could be wrong, but it's taken pretty seriously and with less editing.

The dubbed commentary was full of clever stuff to anyone who wasn't an idiot. The fake conrestant occupations alone were brilliant.

The original dialog was typical game show host banality. To say it was better than the dub is some stuck up hipster bullshit.

Holy shit. Now Fox gives away 50,000 a week just to someone doing various things to make their human body hit an inflatable dartboard the closest. :(
