Mitsubishis seem pretty damn solid. I had a 1990 Montero, it was the slowest leakiest piece of shit that needed a new transmission, but the frame and body were built really well. Someone rear-ended me in a Toyota Avalon going about 35-40, and all that happened was my bumper was a little bent. The other person's transmission was poking through the floor of the car.
(I wasn't going to mention this, but you guys will probably enjoy knowing that it was an Asian lady on her cellphone).
