My favorite thing about this short is that out of necessity of the animation technique, it appears that time is passing very quickly relative to the internal clocks of the characters. As a result, I get the distinct feeling that these are long, slow-moving, natural forces operating on geological time, wherein the life of a human is just a blink in their eye, and even the Earth itself lives, breathes, and dies.
