Everyone is blindfolded in goalball so you could play. It's about 100 times more fun to play than to watch because the audience has to be quiet. On the pro level, they can throw the ball up to 50 mph. Also, they try and throw the ball so the bells don't jingle in the ball. So there could be a silent, nearly 3 pound ball coming at your face at 50 mph when you can't see. Clip from Paralympics:

I think it's pretty awesome, but if you really want to feel bad for the people there, consider that they are probably forbidden from having conversations so that the players can hear the ball roll.
