"Your mother ate my dog!" So, so many quotes from this movie.
Also, "Stand back, son. It's time for some divine intervention."

I will never get over the fact that the man who directed this film went on to direct the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Probably the greatest Kiwi achievement since Gallipoli.

The best character after the priest is Void's farting intestines.

-1 star for the shitty American title, +a million for being amazing. The day we found this for 50p on VHS remains one of my few good memories of uni.

Awesome video. I remember first seeing this as some late-night special on HBO or something and I was totally blown away with how good it was, completely missing that it was Peter Jackson (I had previously seen Bad Taste).
I really wish he'd make a movie like this again.

SDAusmus - 2009-03-05 Didn't he say he wanted to make another cheap-o horror film after getting burned out on big epic blockbusters with "King Kong"?
|
StanleyPain - 2009-03-05 He did, but then he turned around and got involved with the Halo movie (which is now pretty much dead in that form), producing the Hobbit films, and doing a film version of The Lovely Bones (yawn). He's also probably going to be involved in the Tintin movie, or one of them if there's more than one.
So....I guess he likes being burned out.
