The whole Beckett on Film set of 19 plays is an exercise in converting Beckett's stage directions into the language of film. In the script, the stage is darkened and each actor/urn is illuminated by an overhead light that prompts their confessions. As if being interrogated. I think the late Anthony Minghella does a fine job of translating that to whirring camera closeups...
