Thus began one of the greatest wrestling feuds of the 90's, between Mean Gene Oakerlund and Barry The Guy Who Refuses to Put His Cigarette Out.

Gene and Barry ultimately squared off at 1994's SummerSlam, where Gene won the WWF Interviewer Championship after Barry flubbed his interview with Randy Savage due to a persistent cough.

After beating kayfabe lung cancer, Barry did a face turn, and changed his name to Barry The Guy Who Waves An American Flag All Over the Place Because That Seems Like a Pretty Popular Gimmick.
