Human society is awesome/hilarious. I'm not trying to denigrate fat people with this example but, say there was something in the environment that made it relatively common to have horrible infected scabs and boils all over ones face. There would arise advocacy groups for having horrible infected scabs and boils all over ones face; rationalising it and so on.

People are fat for all kinds of reasons, but most people are fat because they eat shit, eat too much, drink too many sugar drinks\alcohol, and don't exercise.
I have a lot of sympathy for drug addicts, and I have sympathy for fat people too. I've seen extremely fat people lose weight. They become happier. They have fewer health problems. It's not like all the disdain for obesity is rooted in intolerance, but I'm not going to cheer on a bunch of cocaine addicts because they're proud of their inevitable premature heart failure either.

I think the more extreme "fat acceptance" stuff is really fucking stupid. I also don't think it's all that funny to be cruel to the fatties, but who the fuck am I kidding, I definitely laughed at fat chicks with party hats.
Like the Fat!so? tagline says "because you don't have to apologize for your size". The rest of the world doesn't need to apologize for being repulsed, amused, or for feeling inconvenienced by the morbidly obese.
