I have a boring, tangentially related story! I spent a few summers at a camp run by Duke University (TIP, no idea if it's still a thing), and in my third year, one of the guys in my class was the Aspiest Aspie who ever lived, a nationally ranked chess player, and obsessed with Benito Mussolini. (Also: Robert Heinlein.)

There. That's it. That's the chess/ASD/fascism story. Every so often I'm terrified by the thought that this guy can now vote.

I've always thought that chess champs should be called concentration camps. It makes more sense with that Mussolini guy.

I hate it when people play psychiatrist like that. Why not just say "he's crazy!", or "what an idiot!". But I guess that's the way it is now, we consult the DSM for better insults.

Umm... "He's a high-functioning autistic" is much more specific than "He's crazy" or "he's an idiot". It tells you a lot more. You're complaining that people are being more specific?
