Next to tribal dragon t-shirts, and the people who wear them, this is probably the most embarrassed I've ever been as someone involved with MMA.

I'm seeing this video everywhere. It's haunting me. And it's like sub-World Star Hip Hop quality fighting. Meanwhile, InvictaFC -- an all-female fight organization -- held their first event over the weekend, and it was fucking awesome. They're estimating that they got about 250k viewers, which is pretty decent, but five times as many people will watch this garbage.

The title and the story here are a bit misleading, though: the older guy has fought before (he has a 1-1 record) and shows up at these things as an alternate. So someone either no-showed or was unable to compete and he jumped in as an alternate. So it's not like he was plucked out of the crowd, handed a pair of ugly shorts and told to go at it: he apparently trains and was ready to go. Honestly, I'm not convinced the fact that he has done this before and has trained doesn't make this even more embarrassing, because he looks like total shit.

GOOD THING THAT GUY TURNED AROUND TO LOOK AT WHERE HE WAS GOING TO FALL.
