Amen. I seem to be the only one left on the planet who wants cake to taste good more than I want it to look spectacular. Simple cake with at most a quarter-inch of frosting (perhaps a creme of some kind spread between layers) does me just fine. Fondant goes in the trash can. |

That understanding has a slight flaw: They only do the one-to-one (and pretty much only on the KJV bible) adherence to things they agree with or want to push on others. They're all about condemning homosexuality, but a lot of other things they do every day that would have earned them a stoning is ignored. Not to mention that poverty is mentioned hundreds of times, but they'll go through logic convulsions to avoid having to give any money to help the needy. |

The Republican/Libertarian types in this country really have come to embody the old saying, "Choose your enemies carefully, for you will become them."
What's really sad is they chose an enemy that really didn't exist, and now advocate pretty much facist, corporatist, racist, and theocratic extremes. And if anyone wants to complain that I'm not taking some kind of mythical "moderate Republican" into account, I'd point out that they're not in charge and aren't managing to get non-loonies nominated in any of their primaries. |

I preferred this one over Movie-Zaphod, fake head and all. The way they portrayed the second head in the film made little sense, his political opponent and that ray gun sub-plot went nowhere, and it wasn't worth it just to have him wearing a juicer on his head for the rest of the movie.
Also, Trillian sucked (but she kind of did in the Beeb series, too), and the BBC version of Deep Thought surpassed the movie version in both presentation and performance.
It also irked me that the final line made no sense, about Milliways being "that way" when it's on Magrathea, but in the far, far future... which isn't really a direction.
In closing, the radio series is also very good, and delivers more laughs than the film. |

As someone who's been messing around with voiceovers for existing footage, speaking LOUDLY and CLEARLY is almost a must, since the background noise (the movie) is of variable volume, and re-recording is a PITA.
I don't hear much difference between this and their MST3K days when you listen to the 'Trax as a whole, instead of clips like this. This one has none of the banter-ish stuff that sounds more like conversation. |

You don't have to go out of your way to hate Twilight. The crappy writing, bad relationship role models, and fan base that seems to not understand that they're consuming something that's incredibly mediocre compared to other works in the same (pardon the expression) vein make it almost a reflexive response to dislike it. |

I wish I could send the campaign speeches the Republicans have given in the past decade or so back in time to when even Republican voters would have been horrified that this is what their party has come to. Maybe it'd stop Bush from even being nominated. |
