Transformers cast Interviews
06/29/09, 12:41

I enjoyed the movie for the same reasons I hold my DVD copy of "Monsters Crash the Pajama Party" so very close to my heart.

Because it was a brainless boy-movie. It's like how my nephew would write a movie if I gave him a box full of Transformers, GI-Joes, and firecrackers.
Hey, F3AR!

Great clip. What's what the point of the submission?

I'm not going to even bother mentioning the rules against calling out other people with a video (cause it also states you can't swear in your comments or description or tags, fuck that). But the person who submitted it did so anonymously.

For all I know F3AR submitted this himself in a bid for e-sympathy.

You say this now, but in five years Neverland Ranch will be just as toured as Graceland, there will be people claiming that Jackson didn't die, people will focus on his early career rather than what he eventually became, and there will be novelty clocks where his hips shake swing back and forth (possibly while grabbing his crotch).

If he wasn't an Elvis, we'll certainly make him one.

actually, not to derail this anymore. (Although, I'm fairly confident that those that wanted to comment on the video done so already)

My new theory is how long the address is. When I copied and pasted it the second time, I noticed that it is exactly as long as the box given to type the comments in. Mayhaps something to do with filling a line with text and no spaces somehow fucks with the font?

I don't know if having a word right afterwords is necessary or not.
toilet

It's a normal toilet that does not have lights/sounds/hands clapping when you flush it.

To a Japanese, it is quite horrifying.

Dicknuts, unless you are under 20 years old or have been smoking weed for the last ten years, I seriously don't know what to tell you. It was just about the biggest deal our one-horse town had for quite awhile (until Bush and Kerry came to Topeka during their campaign stop on the same day to honor the Brown v. Board museum).

http://www.dailypress.com/news/national/bal-te.topeka18may18,0,1776509.story (let's see if this bolds)

If you aren't quite 20, then you or your friends probably have a tiny stuffed pikachu laying around somewhere. It looks like a Chinese knockoff, but I'm sure it's worth a lot of money.

If it's cause you have been smoking weed all this time, then you need to hook a fellow up! I've been dry for months.

I don't know... must have been something with that address I copied and pasted into the comments (It does link to a page over ten years old).

Although, I think it's that space between the address and parenthesis, because I honestly thought I put a paragraph between the two.

Pokemon will always have a special place in my heart. Not, because I actually ever played the game. But my hometown, Topeka, was the that Nintendo used as a platform to launch Pokemon in America.

Our mayor at the time even renamed the city "ToPikachu" in honor of the city being used as a gimmick to sell this electronic crack.

"Gasoline", Jenga Blocks, Barbie Dolls, Watermelon, Dressing up as Thomas Paine... (god, am I missing anything?)

I'm pretty tired of Glenn's "prop pundit" shtick that he for some reason thinks is groundbreaking or hilarious. Using toys to explain concepts like administration policy, environmental legislation, organizations, or what-have-you does not speak well of the core audience.

His piece titled "Outdoor Snack" does it for me.

An orange and an ice cream cone (laying on it's side) with what appears to be tomato juice and what at first looks like a glass of milk, but on closer inspection I believe it's mercury.

CGI Garfield absorbs donuts osmotically
06/27/09, 04:07

Big, you're telling me that Jim (sorry meme) Davis is saying that Garfield wants to learn from books, but doesn't actually want to read them. So, he straps them around his body and says that he'll learn through osmosis, but if he actually bothered to read one of the books, he'd know that "osmosis" pertains to liquids moving through a membrane, and thus illustrating the ineffectiveness of strapping books to your body in order to learn? Wow, that is the most layered and insightful joke that Mr. Davis has ever produced.

TL;DR

The improper use of a word, even if it is easy to understand through context or accepted use, leaves me very nonplussed.
CGI Garfield absorbs donuts osmotically
06/27/09, 03:19

I am not one to jump over people who don't use the "proper" definition of the word. Yes, I understand what is being conveyed by the use of the word osmosis, and yes I understand that Old Zircon is simply referencing the poster.

But ever since I was a little kid that saw that poster on the wall of the cafeteria/classroom/hallway, every single adult has pointed out that that is not, in fact, demonstrating osmosis.

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/osmosis

It just made me wonder, that with everyone having to point out that the poster is scientifically inaccurate, why did the school get it in the first place? What sort of purpose, other than a throw-away visual pun that Jeff Davis spent all of ten minutes drawing instead of looking up the word in the dictionary? Wouldn't "I'm learning by Transference" be a better phrase?

Apologies for a rant and a derail about something we can all agree would be made trivial as soon as one of you guys point out that the books are actually soaking wet.
